Hartham Park Bath Stone

Hartham Park Bath Stone is one of the most iconic British Stones. We took over the lease in 2016 and have invested heavily in state-of-the-art equipment and infastructure, including a new drive in drive out shaft, and our specialist team have many years' of experince of working at Hartham. As of 3 October 2022, we acquired the freehold to Hartham Park and mineral rights.

Bath Stone has enhanced the landscape of Bath and its surroundings for decades. It has many uses; from building stone, internal flooring and lends itself to archiectural masonry, where it can be seen on the facade of stone builings across the UK and as internal masonry.

Our Bath Stone

Applications for Iconic Hartham Park Bath Stone

History of Hartham Park

Our Hartham Park Bath Stone Quarry is the oldest Bath Stone Quarry still in operation today and dates back to 1810. In those days every piece of stone was hand cut and sawn; pick axes and hand-held saws were the tools of the trade rather than the powerful machinery we have access to today. Bath Stone was one of the stones used to build the ancient City of Bath; from the Royal Crescent to the Pump Room. The stone is extracted underground at Hartham Park and, technically, the correct name for it is underground quarry rather than a mine and our specialised team on site has a wealth of experience, some of whom have worked together for 20 years.
