Lovell Stone Group is a family run business with a reputation for supplying quality British Stone to customers throughout the UK. We own and operate six quarries across the South West, offering a range of natural stone products and bespoke services. We've become one of the most respected Quarry Masters and Masonry companies in the UK; working on a wide range of residential, historical and award-winning projects.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Engineering to join our team, primarily located at Downs Quarry, Purbeck. In this role you will be responsible for the repairs, scheduled maintenance of plant and mobile equipment and will manage all general maintenance and repair work to building fabric and premises. The role will also require you to support our sites in Langport, Somerset and Tisbury, near Salisbury.

As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for:

• Preventative and scheduled maintenance
• Emergency maintenance - minimise downtime for production
• Repairs of equipment (mobile plant and production machinery) and tooling - mechanical and electrical.
• General site maintenance and repairs
• Organise and manage subcontract engineers for work outside your skill set / remit.
• Adherence and implementation of Health & Safety procedures and policies - including reporting of incidents/near misses
• Supervise a team member

You must have:

• Experience as a maintenance engineer

• Good understanding of the workings and maintenance of electrical & mechanical installations.
• Experience of repairing hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, fans, and machine tools.

Desirable:

• Electrical qualifications

You must be willing to

• Work across the three sites - Purbeck, Langport and Tisbury
• Provide emergency engineering/maintenance support

• Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm
• Overtime at time and half

Salary: £14.50-£17.50 per hour (based on experience)
