Hiring for a Draughtsman & CNC Programmer

We have a new, unique opportunity for a Draughtsman & CNC Programmer to join our growing team. This would be an exciting position for a stone mason looking to expand and develop their career path within the industry.

The role:

The Draughtsman & CNC Programmer will report directly to the Estimator & Contracts Manager and work in close partnership with the internal sales team and wider stakeholders, from sales to production, across the group. The successful candidate will have previous experience working within the stonework/stonemasonry sector and ideally be proficient in AutoCAD. You will play an important part by creating designs that meet client requirements and CAD drawings for production and onsite work.

The role will suit a self-motivated and highly organised individual with a keen eye for detail and willingness to learn CNC programming to produce 3D modelling for production. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator, computer literate, good organisational skills with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.

The successful candidate will:


  • Create detailed designs that meet client requirements
  • Liaison with customers, architects & specifiers
  • Create CAD drawings for production
  • Provide drawing & technical details
  • Prepare and supply job cards for production & cutting schedules
  • Cut templates
  • Visit sites, when required, to take details and produce drawings
  • Programming on the CNC/5 axis to produce 3D modelling


  • Stone masonry / stone detailing background
  • Experience of the stone sector
  • Masonry production knowledge
  • AutoCAD desirable (full training can be provided)
  • Ability to read architectural & engineering drawings
  • CNC/5 Axis programming desirable (full training can be provided)


  • Excellent attention to detail & accuracy
  • Good communicator
  • Ability to work in a team or under own initiative
  • Flexible and adaptable; comfortable working in an agile environment
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Willingness to learn
  • Must be computer literate

The package:

  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm
  • Onsite (Hybrid may be considered following training for the right candidate)
  • £25k - £40k per annum (DOE)
  • 20 days holiday + statutory bank holidays
