We've just taken delivery of a new Hitachi ZX 490 Excavator and at just over 51 tonne, this exceptionally large delivery had to navigate country lanes, a very narrow bridge and railway crossing to reach it's new home. Our quarrying team extract our British Stone across 4 sites: Purbeck, Somerset Lias, Hurdcott Greenstone and Chicksgrove & Chilmark and this excavator will certainly be put through its paces. The newer Hitachi has reduced fuel consumption, increased effieciency and higher productivity ouput  and is part of our continued programme of investment back into the business.
